One Wisconsin woman killed in fatal motorcycle accident

One Menomonie woman died after being thrown from a motorcycle when it collided with a vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn. According to the report, the fatal accident occurred when the vehicle turned as the motorcycle attempted to pass on the driver's side. The motorcycle struck the vehicle, causing the operator to be ejected from the bike.

Insuring teenagers is expensive

Wisconsin parents might be interested to hear that insuring teenagers is more expensive that insuring any other drivers. Teens are considered the riskiest drivers. Therefore, insurance companies charge more to insure them. According to a senior insurance analyst for InsuranceQuotes.com, parents experience an annual insurance premium hike of 84 percent when they add their teens onto their auto insurance policies.

Truck industry unhappy about new driver fatigue regulations

Wisconsin's trucking industry is about to experience some changes this month thanks to a set of government regulations being imposed nationwide. The new rules are intended to curb the rate of fatigue-related accidents among truck drivers. Data provided by the Department of Transportation indicates that there are between three and four thousand truck accident deaths every year, and driver fatigue was a contributing factor in 13 percent of them.

Woman dies in 4-vehicle crash on Wisconsin highway

With multiple reports of collisions between late May and early July, Highway 97 in Stratford has seen its fair share of accidents this year. On July 1, a fatal car crash involving four vehicles tied up afternoon traffic for several hours between the eastbound and westbound stretches of Highway C and resulted in the death of a 57-year-old woman from Marshfield. A 49-year-old Stratford man was also reportedly injured in the accident. There were no other injuries initially reported. Prior accidents along the same highway this year reportedly resulted in at least one other fatality and left others seriously injured.
