Three people were injured in a crash that occurred near Janesville. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, two vehicles were involved in the crash. The three people who were injured were all hospitalized.
A Toyota Prius reportedly hit a motorcycle on the southbound side of Interstate 39 at Route 26/Milton Avenue. The car accident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on Monday, August 12. The Prius ended up in a ditch after the accident, and the motorcycle was found in the right lane of the roadway. The 56-year-old driver of the motorcycle was reported to be in stable condition at Mercy Hospital while his 63-year-old passenger was in serious condition at the same hospital. The 39-year-old driver of the Prius was transported to St. Mary’s hospital where he was said to be in stable condition at the time of the report.
Traffic was already reportedly moving slowing before the incident due to another accident. The Janesville police, fire and EMS departments all responded to the accident. Wisconsin state police reported that they would continue to investigate the accident and that charges are pending in the case.
