One Wisconsin woman killed in fatal motorcycle accident

One Menomonie woman died after being thrown from a motorcycle when it collided with a vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn. According to the report, the fatal accident occurred when the vehicle turned as the motorcycle attempted to pass on the driver's side. The motorcycle struck the vehicle, causing the operator to be ejected from the bike.

The Chippewa County Sheriff's Office stated that two motorcycles were riding side-by-side when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle did have an indication that it was going to turn left. The woman was identified as a 30-year-old Menomonie resident while the driver of the vehicle was identified as a 17-year-old male from Medford. The other motorcycle was not involved in the accident.

When accidents between motorcycles and vehicles occur, the motorcyclist usually comes off worse as they are not well-protected. Motorcycles are also often difficult to spot, especially if the driver is young and inexperienced. In these instances, the family of the victim may choose to seek compensation from the driver or the driver's insurance agency. However, many insurance companies try to settle with the victim's family fast in order to reduce the settlement amount.

When an insurance company attempts to settle, they often do not provide enough compensation to cover medical costs and funeral expenses, among other damages. An experienced Wisconsin attorney may be able to help maximize the amount of compensation that is awarded to the victim's family by showing the extent of the injuries or loss.
