A Sept. 24 accident has left a 24-year-old Wisconsin man dead and two others injured. The incident is believed to have occurred along State Highway 27 outside of Cataract, Wisconsin.

Police report that a 68-year-old man was driving along the highway when the fatal accident transpired; an oncoming vehicle driven by the decedent struck him head-on, forcing his car to roll over into a nearby ditch. Both the 68-year-old and his 73-year-old female passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the other man was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

As one of the leading causes of death and injury in the United States, car accidents are exceedingly dangerous affairs for anyone to experience. Victims may sustain serious injury and permanent disability that forever inhibits their quality of life and their family’s continued financial security and well-being. Even in cases of less severe injury, medical expenses and short-term rehabilitation costs may cause accident victims to incur a large amount of unjustified debt.

In the aftermath of a fatal car crash such as this one, surviving members of the decedent’s family may be devastated by the inevitable loss of companionship and all of the other damages that entails. Depending on applicable liability determination procedures, family members of the deceased may be entitled to receive financial on their behalf. While this may not be sufficient to assuage the extremity of their pain and suffering, it might be able to help alleviate some of the burdens related to medical, funeral and other expenses as well as damages regarding the decedent’s lost income. In such cases, an attorney may facilitate an accident investigation in order to determine one party’s liability so that his or her clients receive any restitution to which they are entitled.
