Paying attention to where you are going is one of the necessary steps to arriving at a destination safely when you are the one who is driving. When you get distracted or don’t follow the posted traffic signals, serious accidents can occur. A recent accident between a school bus and a car shows how important it is for drivers to remain aware of what is going on around them so they can properly react.
The car accident occurred in Grafton, Wisconsin, at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Falls Road. A red passenger vehicle failed to stop at a red light and slammed into the side of the bus. Emergency crews had to try to remove the car from under the bus. The driver of the car was extricated and taken the hospital. He was moving when they removed him from his vehicle.
One of the John Long Middle School students who was on the bus had to be taken to the hospital. The bus driver and the other students on the bus are said to have bumps and bruises, but are otherwise okay.
This accident could have been much more serious. The parents of the students who were involved in the accident will have to keep a close eye on them to make sure their injuries aren’t more severe than initially thought. For the parents of the student taken to the hospital, dealing with medical bills for the student’s care will likely be one of the after effects of the accident.
Drivers who run red lights can cause serious accidents. Anyone who has been hurt in an accident caused by a driver who didn’t obey a traffic signal might be able to seek for his or her injuries. Knowing how to do so can make the process easier to navigate in the civil court system.
