Construction workers are prone to head and back injuries

On behalf of Mudge Porter Lundeen & Seguin, S.C. | Apr 10, 2017 | Construction Workers' Accidents

Do you work in the construction industry? If so, you are familiar with the many risks associated with your job. For example, you may be concerned about falling from height. Or maybe you have reason to believe that an object could fall from above and cause a serious injury.

Although you and your employer do your best to avoid serious accidents, you never know what could happen in the future.

Construction workers are prone to head and back injuries, with one of these immediately changing a person’s life.

Some of the most common types of head injuries include:

— Concussion

— Closed head injury

— Traumatic brain injury

Back and neck injuries are just as serious, with some of these including:

— Spinal fracture

— Broken back

— Spinal cord trauma

— Herniated disk

— Paralysis

At our law firm, we know that a construction worker could be seriously injured at any time. Over the years, we have helped many of these people better understand their legal rights and the steps they can take to receive compensation for their injuries.

Just because you could suffer a serious injury may not be reason enough for you to find another job. However, if you work in construction, you should be aware of the risks associated with your employment.

If you suffer an injury that keeps you away from your job in the future, it’s time to learn more about your legal rights. You may be able to file a lawsuit against the negligent party or receive workers’ compensation benefits. Either way, you need to protect yourself.
