With the holiday season upon us, many people might be heading out to go visit other homes. Some of those homes might have dogs. While most people say their dogs are nice and friendly, there is always the possibility that the dog might lash out. With that in mind, we want to remind our Wisconsin readers about some basic dog bite facts.

Felony charge in car accident that injured Wisconsin broadcaster

A 44-year-old man is facing a felony charge for a November car collision that left a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, sports broadcaster injured. Formal charges include causing injury while driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance.

3-vehicle crash in Wisconsin injures 4 people

On Dec. 28, a three-car accident occurred after a pedestrian at a crossing initiated the flashing yellow signal warning motorists to slow down. Four people were injured as a result of the incident. Since May 2012, at least three other collisions have been reported at this same pedestrian crossing. At 2:02 p.m., the pedestrian activated the yellow signal and crossed without incident. A Land Rover heading east on Ogden Avenue stopped for the signal, but two vehicles behind the Land Rover did not stop. The second vehicle rear-ended the SUV. Then, the third vehicle rear-ended the second vehicle, and the force of the impact sent the second vehicle into the Land Rover again.

Two motorists die in Wisconsin head-on crash

Motorists recently received a warning about the dangers associated with failing to maintain control over a motor vehicle. Police reported that two drivers were killed in a motor vehicle accident when their vehicles crashed head-on into each other just outside of Rock Falls. Personnel from the local medical examiner's office were called to the scene after rescuers were unable to revive either of the seriously injured drivers. One of the drivers was 19-years-old and, the other was 62. There were no passengers reported in either car, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Wisconsin boy seriously injured by unlicensed pit bull

The owner of a female pit bull was issued a quarantine order after the dog attacked a 7-year-old boy in Racine. According to police, the dog was found to be both unvaccinated and unlicensed. As a result of the attack, the young victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. There have been no reports as to whether the boy's family plans to file a personal injury claim against the dog owner.

Popular broadcaster injured in accident is recovering quickly

A well-liked Wisconsin radio broadcaster suffered injuries in a car accident around 10 a.m. Nov. 13. The crash occurred at the intersection of Fond du Lac and Hampton avenues in Milwaukee when a car ran a red light and hit the side of his car. On Nov. 14, he was looking forward to leaving the ICU and moving into a regular room, according to a source close to him.

Four injured in two-vehicle Wisconsin crash

Wisconsin State Patrol officials said that a late-night crash involving a semi-tractor-trailer truck, and a passenger vehicle on Interstate 90/94 left four people injured, including two children. However, none of the people who were hurt sustained serious injury.
