Milwaukee man charged with OWI in 5-car accident

A five-car crash that left at least one person injured was due to drunk driving, according to Wauwatosa police. The car accident occurred on Mayfair Road when a 45-year-old man from Milwaukee was allegedly speeding with a blood alcohol content of 0.15, nearly twice the limit for drunk driving in Wisconsin.

Gratiot Township accident leads to serious injury

A Gratiot Township truck accident on State Highway 78 led to serious injury when a 60-year-old woman was hit by a 48-year-old man who ran a stop sign. The Freightliner truck driver failed to stop at a traffic sign on South Prairie Road and pulled into Highway 78 where the woman struck him. Initially, her Ford sedan went under the large truck but then spun in the roadway and landed in a ditch on the side of the road. The truck came to a stop on the road. The car driver was extricated from the wreckage of her car and flown to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The truck driver sustained no injuries in the crash. Fortunately, the car driver was later released from the hospital and is at home recuperating from her injuries.

Port Washington man attacked by an unlicensed dog

On Thanksgiving, a Port Washington man was attacked and received multiple animal bites by a neighbor's dog. He was in the process of carrying bags out his car when the dog escaped its leash and began biting him. Although the man kicked the dog in self-defense, he sustained injuries to his hand, head and groin before the animal could be pulled off by its owner. After police responded to a 911 call reporting the attack, the man was taken to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries, including stitches on his ear. A bag the man had been carrying was found at the scene with froth from the dog's mouth on it.

Serious crash results in Wisconsin woman's death

Two car crashes in two days in Anoka resulted in death for one Wisconsin victim. The second accident occurred when the Wisconsin resident attempted to make a U-turn in the middle of the road. She drove directly into the path of an SUV driven by a teenage girl, according to police sources. Although this crash happened in a neighboring state, the same scenario could have easily played out on Wisconsin roads. The crash killed the Wisconsin driver instantly and sent the SUV driver and a passenger to the hospital with injuries. The accident is under investigation to determine if a wrongful death occurred. The Anoka Police Department, the Anoka County Sheriff's Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol are involved in the investigation of the crash.
