Popular broadcaster injured in accident is recovering quickly

A well-liked Wisconsin radio broadcaster suffered injuries in a car accident around 10 a.m. Nov. 13. The crash occurred at the intersection of Fond du Lac and Hampton avenues in Milwaukee when a car ran a red light and hit the side of his car. On Nov. 14, he was looking forward to leaving the ICU and moving into a regular room, according to a source close to him.

The radio host was reported to be in critical condition after being transported to Froedtert Hospital for a head injury and a concussion. However, by the next morning, according to a WAUK representative, his status was upgraded from critical to stable. He was well enough to receive visitors and was in good spirits, and family, friends and members of the MU athletic staff were on-hand in his hospital room, expressing their enthusiasm for his miraculous recovery.

An MU athletics coach told the radio host that, despite the patient stating that he wanted to do so, it would be unrealistic for him to be able to call the game on Nov. 16. The coach said that he could hopefully fly the following Saturday to the Arizona State game. The broadcaster is known for being the Marquette University basketball radio voice for the past 20 years.

Although this story could have a happy ending, many accidents that are caused by the negligence of others may lead to debilitating injuries and even death. A personal injury attorney could help accident victims to deal with the aftermath of accidents by explaining the legal process involved in pursuing a claim for compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of income or final expenses for a loved one.
