Paying attention to what other drivers are doing on the road can help to keep the occupants of your vehicle, as well as the occupants of other vehicles safe. When drivers don’t pay attention to the vehicles around them, they can easily miss vehicles slowing down or turning. In those cases, serious accidents can occur. A recent accident along Highway 23 in Wisconsin proves this point.

The fatal accident occurred when a westbound SUV driven by a 25-year-old woman failed to stop when the pickup truck in front of her stopped to make a left turn onto Willow Road. The SUV slammed into the back of the pickup truck.

The impact of that crash caused the pickup truck to move into the eastbound lanes. The pickup truck was then struck by another vehicle, which was traveling in the eastbound lanes.

Sadly, a 63-year-old woman in the eastbound vehicle died as a result of the accident. A 33-year-old man who was in the pickup truck needed treatment for minor injuries. The 25-year-old driver who slammed into the pickup truck was taken to Theda Clark Medical Center via Flight for Life.

Failing to pay attention to the vehicle in front of her resulted in the woman driving the SUV hitting another vehicle, which caused a chain reaction that resulted in a death. The deceased woman’s family now has to work through the emotional trauma of her untimely death.

Anyone who has lost a loved one in a fatal car accident can seek for damages related to the loss. This might help them to alleviate some of the financial strain of having to pay for final expenses, medical bills and other expenses.
