Wisconsin boy dies after semi-truck accident

Semi-truck drivers have to be aware of how traffic around them is flowing. Failing to pay attention to those around them can cause accidents that might lead to serious injuries. The reasons for semi-truck drivers to not have their full attention on the roadway can vary greatly. Fatigue, long hours on the road, cellphones and a host of other causes might play a part in semi-truck accidents. Regardless of the cause, these accidents can have a huge impact on those affected.

A recent semi-truck accident in Juneau, Wisconsin, shows just how powerful the impact can be in one of these accidents. The accident happened on Aug. 15 when a woman slowed down to turn in a southbound lane. The semi-truck that was behind her didn’t follow her lead and slammed into the back of her car. The impact caused her car to move into the northbound lane, where she struck a van.

The driver of the van and the driver of the car both suffered non-life threatening accidents. They were both hospitalized. The trucker wasn’t hurt. A 9-year-old boy who was in the car hit by the semi-truck suffered from injuries that eventually claimed his life.

While it isn’t clear if charges have been filed in relation to this accident, it is clear that a family is having to bury a child and two other people are having to deal with injuries. They are all probably having to deal with unexpected expenses that might be putting a financial strain on them.

Being hit by a truck isn’t something that anyone wants to go through, but if it does happen, seeking is possible. Understanding how personal injury laws apply to each case is vital to ensure that the case is properly presented.
